It’s all within walking distance today, once again showcasing walkability as one of Oslo’s best features. This morning’s meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Norway) was followed by an afternoon meeting at Parliament with Members of Parliament Marianne Aasen, Injgerd Schou, and Peter Gitmark.
These MPs and some of their colleagues will attend the upcoming 25th Nobel Peace Prize Forum in Minneapolis, but they are hardly strangers to Minneapolis. Both Aasen and Schou have been rather recent guests at Augsburg College, and they are intentionally planning this return visit to more completely explore the opportunities for educational, health and business collaboration. The Forum’s Business Day March 8 and the new Science and Health Day March 9 will give particular focus to their discussions.
Truth be told, the real buzz around Parliament this afternoon was the expected visit of European Union dignitaries Martin Schulz and Jose Manuel Barroso.
