Laureate Lights: Aung San Suu Kyi travels to Oslo

Over the course of the year we’re going to highlight the current work of Nobel Peace Prize winners through a series of posts we’re calling “Laureate Lights.” Given all of the news surrounding her political victory in Myanmar, we’ve decided to begin with Aung San Suu Kyi , who will be traveling to Oslo in June to deliver her Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech (she was awarded the prize in 1991 but was under house arrest until November 2010).

Stay tuned to our blog, Facebook page, and Twitter feed for more headlines as we follow Aung San Suu Kyi’s inspiring work and travels in Europe.

Her formal Nobel Peace Prize address will take place on Saturday, June 16 at 1:00 PM (Oslo time). It’s not clear yet whether the Nobel Institute will livestream the address, so we’ll be checking this page for updates.

Lastly, in case you missed it, Aung San Suu Kyi delivered an amazing video address during the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize Forum. Watch it here.
