Nobel Peace Prize Festival: March 8, 2013

About the Festival

As part of the Nobel Peace Prize Forum, the Festival is designed specifically for K12 students. K12 teachers are invited to register their classes to participate in the Festival.

The 2012 Festival was just awesome! The program featured appearances by Nobel Laureate F.W. de Klerk, Andrew Slack (Harry Potter Alliance), and Hip Hop artist Dessa. In addition, it included age-appropriate workshops and a perennial favorite: the presentation of the Adopt-a-Laureate projects.

For 2013, students and teachers are encouraged to prepare for the Festival by creating an “Adopt-a-Laureate” presentation. Teachers may wish to link their students’ work and participation to Minnesota state standards in Literacy, Social Studies, Art, and World Languages.

Parents wishing to bring their schoolchildren to the Festival are welcome to attend, as are small groups of supervised youth, such as church youth groups or girl/boy scout troops. All informal groups are strongly encouraged to register in advance as well.

There is no charge to attend or participate in the Festival.
