About the Festival
As part of the Nobel Peace Prize Forum, the Festival is designed specifically for K12 students. K12 teachers are invited to register their classes to participate in the Festival.
The 2012 Festival was just awesome! The program featured appearances by Nobel Laureate F.W. de Klerk, Andrew Slack (Harry Potter Alliance), and Hip Hop artist Dessa. In addition, it included age-appropriate workshops and a perennial favorite: the presentation of the Adopt-a-Laureate projects.
The 2013 Festival (Friday, March 8), features Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus, the “Banker to the Poor” from Bangladesh who pioneered a world movement to eradicate poverty through microlending. Targeting grades three through eight, the Festival is designed to address Minnesota social studies standards in geography and economics. Participate by “adopting a laureate” in your classroom or simply come and be inspired.
Admission is free. Click here for more information and to register online.
