I had just stepped off the hotel elevator to enter the lobby. Seated on an easy chair twenty feet in front of me, Nobel Laureate Tawakkul Karman engaged in conversation with 6-8 of her supporters, giving an interview. We English speakers understood not a word. But we saw that hers is an open face, relaxed and smiling one second and emphasizing an important point with serious expression the next second. The TV camera captured the moment as cell phones clicked impromptu photos. Was this the chance to invite her to give a keynote address at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum? No, she was clearly involved with her countrymen this evening. Tomorrow we will get our chance, taking advantage of the opportunity to officially meet her at the time of the Nobel Ceremony.
